The Lucchesi Pall Library contains more than 2000 photographs that document Neapolitan theatre
and music between the 19th and the 20th century through the many portraits of actors and singers,
writers and composers, theatre companies, scene photos and the activities of the main photographers
active in Naples at that time (Bernoud, Sommer). One of the main collections was donated by Arthur
Spurle, an avid collector and a passionate fan of Neapolitan music and theatre.
The images presented in this section relative to the Lucchesi Palli Collection were created for
a project of digital acquisition edited by the Media Section of the National Library of Naples.
