The
Naples Theatre Archives is a collaborative project involving the main
Neapolitan institutions committed to the enhancement of historical theatre resources:
Objectives
Under the patronage and sponsorship of the Campania Region, the Naples Municipal Government,
the Province of Naples, along with the Cariplo Foundation, the
Naples Theatre Archives is working to
create a point of reference for the preservation and the
enhancement of the patrimony of one of the most important traditions in European theatre,
develop useful collaborative relationships with the owners of documents
which are relevant to the history of the theatre,
support the archival process of documentary materials from contemporary
theatrical productions,
collaborate with other organizations and
institutions which carry out similar activities at the national and international level.
Activities
Description and cataloguing of materials present in the various archives and
progressive on-line
publication of catalogues and inventories.
Exhibits, meetings, and displays promoting the study, practice and
enjoyment of the theatre arts.
Services
The inventories and the catalogues presented on this site allow for consultation via
internet, while
direct consultation of the documents will be regulated by individual institutions.
The collaboration of the
Cybernetic Institute "Eduardo Caianiello"
of National Research Council
have placed this project within the Neapolitan Museum network.
